Arare

Yuki Ferdinandsen works in silver with different japanese technics. One of these is called “ARARE”. The word means “Hail”. The small hailbullets are hammered out in different patterns on a dim silver body. It gives a contrasting interrelation between light and shadow. The repetition has a very strong meditative element to it, especially in the bigger objects. This technic is several hundred years old, but the objects, when produced, have a definite aura of timelessness. Via Danish crafts.
